Glendora : Town Meeting on Future
The Town Council has called a public meeting tonight to focus on the future of Glendora, which celebrated its centennial last month.
A panel will convene at 7:30 p.m. in the Bidwell Forum of Glendora Library to address issues of growth, education, disaster preparedness, needs of senior citizens, waste-to-energy plants, water resources and community planning.
The Rev. Richard Shackell, moderator of the panel, said Glendora has grown from 3,500 residents in 1947 to 40,000 in 1987. He said many of today’s residents are poor or elderly and have special needs that the city must consider.
