Coupon Clippers Offer Shopping Suggestions

Share

In response to Maureen Franklin’s letter (March 28) who complained about coupon clippers:

I am a fanatical coupon clipper who enjoys saving money. Each time I visit the market I save nearly $10 on my purchases and wouldn’t otherwise unless I used the coupons. Sure, I have to wait in line alongside the other coupon clippers and I don’t mind because where I do my marketing the cashiers are experienced, fast and accurate, without resorting to “yards of tape.”

Ms. Franklin, if you’re in a hurry to do your marketing, why not go at a time when it’s not crowded (I find that Friday nights or early Saturday mornings are great) and then you’ll find a near-empty parking lot, a “clean store,” “uncluttered aisles.” Then you can do your grocery shopping in peace and leave: Maybe what you need is a market designed for you only!

There is such a thing as a “No Coupons” checkout line; you may wish to utilize that!
