StarTel Corp. Reports Lost in First Quarter

Blaming a soft telecommunications market in the first quarter, StarTel Corp. of Irvine reported a net loss of $716,000 for the period, compared with net earnings of $107,000 a year earlier.

Revenue for the quarter dropped 24% to $1.9 million from $2.5 million in the same period last year.
