Mother of Wealthiest Briton Dies in Crash

BELFAST, Northern Ireland —
Viola Maud Lyttleton, the dowager Duchess of Westminster and mother of Britain’s richest man, was killed in a car crash in Northern Ireland, police said today.
The 74-year-old duchess was on her way to a family residence in County Fermanagh when her Jaguar collided with another car Sunday night. The duchess left two daughters and a son, Gerald, the Duke of Westminster, whose fortune is estimated at more than $3.3 billion.
