‘The Court Tunes Out’

For shame, Los Angeles Times, for shame on such an obvious one-sided attitude toward such a serious problem as capital punishment.

You state that capital punishment isn’t a deterrent to murder. How would you know when any attempt to carry out a well-deserved punishment is wrought with every conceivable petty argument. If such a supreme penalty was carried out in a timely manner for those grotesque crimes that deserve it, then I swear the rate of such actions would diminish greatly.

You say that our states are being turned into murderers. Webster defines a murder as the unlawful killing of a human being by another human being with premeditated malice. Hardly the situation that is used by a legally constituted system of government that punishes those that have willfully disregarded the lives of others in horrible crimes.

Finally, I would suggest using your time in campaigning for supreme and swift punishment in a greater percentage of cases where any person regardless of race willfully terminates the life of his victim. Redirecting your energy will make a far better society for all.
