One of four youths shot by subway gunman Bernhard H. Goetz asserted his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and refused to testify at Goetz’s trial for attempted murder. Barry Allen, 21, was the second of the victims to refuse to testify in the case. On Tuesday, James Ramseur was charged with contempt of court after he refused to be sworn as a witness. Before the court recessed for lunch, Allen took the Fifth Amendment 21 times and once asserted attorney-client privilege against disclosing information.
