UC San Diego’s Bob Natal broke his own school records for most home runs and RBIs in a season Wednesday as the Tritons completed their regular-season schedule by sweeping a doubleheader at Claremont-Mudd College.

Natal hit his 16th home run of the season--a grand slam--in the first game of the doubleheader to pace UCSD to an 11-2 victory. For the day, Natal went 5 for 8 and drove in seven runs, giving him a season total of 58 RBIs, one more than he had last year.

UCSD won the second game, 9-5, setting a few individual and team records in the process. Rich Nowak won the second game to improve his record to 9-3, breaking the record for most victories in a season, set by Bob Allen in 1982. In the two games, Brian Rude went 5 for 8 with a double and four RBIs. The double was Rude’s 16th of the season, breaking the UCSD record set last year by Dan Damascio.
