Dealer Gets 10 Years for Arms Sales to Iran

Arms dealer Arif A. Durrani, convicted last month of making illegal shipments of missile parts to Iran, today was given a 10-year prison term and fined $2 million.

Durrani, 37, a Pakistani national living in Westlake Village, Calif., was sentenced to five years each on two counts of exporting weapons without a license, with the terms to run consecutively. He also was fined $1 million on the two counts. Additionally, U.S. District Judge T. F. Gilroy Daly sentenced Durrani to 10 years in prison on one543387509registration, to be served concurrently with his other terms. He was fined another $1 million on the exporting count.
