HBO TO REPORT ON ‘DRUNK AND DEADLY’
On May 17, 1986, a total of 81 persons were killed in alcohol-related automobile accidents.
This Sunday, exactly one year later, Home Box Office will focus on five incidents that took place that day in an hourlong documentary titled “American Undercover: Drunk and Deadly.”
The program airs at 10 p.m., with additional playdates throughout May.
The documentary notes that more than 23,500 persons are killed on U.S. highways annually in alcohol-related accidents, an average of 64 deaths a day.
