The board of directors of Ducommun Inc. in Cypress has named William J. Smith, president of the company’s Kierulff subsidiary, to the additional position of vice president of Ducommun Inc. The announcement was made Tuesday by Wallace W. Booth, Ducommun’s chairman, president and chief executive.

Smith joined Ducommun, an aerospace and electronics distribution company, in 1986 after serving 13 years at Marshall Industries in various capacities, including vice president of sales. Smith was appointed president of Kierulff on March 31 following the forced resignation of Donald Bell, who had been president of both Ducommun and its Kierulff subsidiary.

Booth also said that James S. Heiser, assistant general counsel, has been elected to the position of corporate secretary by the directors. Heiser joined the organization in 1984.
