Dutch Jets Intercept 2 Soviet Bombers Near Coast

THE HAGUE —
Two Dutch F-16 fighter aircraft were scrambled Tuesday to intercept two Soviet TU-95 bombers heading south toward the Netherlands on a reconnaissance mission, Dutch air force officials said Wednesday.
They said the two Dutch planes escorted the Soviet aircraft away from the North Sea coast for about 10 minutes.
It was the first time Dutch fighters have intercepted Soviet aircraft in two years.
