British Jobless Rate Falls Again

LONDON —
Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, favored by public opinion polls to win next month’s elections, received a new boost today as Britain’s jobless figure fell for the 10th consecutive month, to 10.9%.
But the 36,000 drop in unemployed last month was not enough to breach the 3 million mark, leaving Thatcher to fight the June 11 election with three times as many jobless as when she gained power in 1979.
