Balloonist Charged in Ballast Dumping

THE HAGUE, Netherlands —
Dutch balloonist Henk Brink, who set a record time for an Atlantic crossing last year, has been charged with violating aviation law by dumping bags of lead ballast over a town, a justice official said Friday.
The public prosecutor in Haarlem, near Amsterdam, said Brink faces a maximum fine of $1,500 if found guilty at a hearing expected in about two months.
