Gusty thunderstorms pelted the northern Rockies with hail and rain, spun off funnel clouds and washed out roads, forcing authorities to call out snowplows to clear hail and mud slides from a Colorado interstate. Heavy rain and hail pounded Cheyenne, Wyo., and Fort Collins, Colo. Winds gusted to 46 m.p.h. at Jamestown, N.D., and funnel clouds were spotted near Parker, Colo., and in Arapahoe County, but none touched down.
