Official Urges Broader Definition of AIDS

SANTA FE, N.M. —
An official with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control asked state epidemiologists Sunday to expand the definition of AIDS by adding diseases now diagnosed as AIDS-related complex.
Dr. Tim Dondero of the CDC told the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists that the change would help doctors keep better track of the spread of acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
