Two-thirds of Americans are aware that too much sun can lead to skin cancer, yet many sunbathe without a sunscreen, a survey for the American Academies of Dermatology and Pediatrics indicated. Of 1,138 teen-agers and adults surveyed, 21% said they are sunbathers. Of the sunbathers, 79% said they are concerned exposure to sun can lead to skin cancer, or melanoma. Only 36% of the total surveyed had used a tanning or sunscreen product over the previous four months.
