Giant Group May Purchase More of Clark Equipment

WASHINGTON — Giant Group Ltd., a cement company, said that it had a 6.3% interest in Clark Equipment Co. through a subsidiary and an affiliate and may seek control of the truck and construction-machinery company.
In filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Giant said its subsidiary, KCC Delaware Co. and an affiliate, Barris Industries Inc., Los Angeles, bought the 1.1 million Clark shares for $26.5 million as an investment.
