Orange : UCI Offers Referral Service for Seniors

Senior citizens seeking information on medical care and other services such as transportation, money management and home meal preparation can get referrals through a new program offered by the UCI Medical Center.

The Senior Care Options Referral Line at (714) 634-6094 operates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

The program is run by Marilyn Milligan, a clinical social worker with 16 years of experience in geriatric services.

She directs callers to organizations that can provide help with housing, activities, money management, home meal preparation, transportation and other services. People needing medical care will be referred to UCI Medical Center physicians or doctors with offices convenient to the caller.

Children of senior citizens also can be assisted with information about adult day care and other programs.

The referral line is part of UCI Senior Care, a medical center program that includes a health assessment service and the Adult Day Wellness Center.
