E. Germans Take Body From Berlin Wall Area

WEST BERLIN —
Communist East German border guards carried away a body early Saturday from what appeared to be a failed escape attempt at the Berlin Wall, West Berlin police said.
Two officers saw the guards pick up the body from the ground before dawn and put it in a truck that was driven away, said a police spokesman, who insisted on anonymity. The officers and area residents said they did not hear any shots.
