Days after nyet- ing a Soviet broadcast of the controversial miniseries “Amerika,” Russian television finally got around to airing ABC’s “The Day After” Friday. The film depicted the results of a nuclear exchange on Lawrence, Kan. Genrikh Bvorovik, head of the Soviet Peace Committee, introduced the program thus: “We regard the film as a document of the time, truthfully describing the evolution of anti-war feelings in the United States and resistance by progressive figures in American culture to the adventurist policy of the military.”
