Digitext Reports a Loss of $661,428 in the Fourth Quarter

Digitext reported a narrower loss of $661,428, or 17 cents per share, in its fourth quarter ended March 31, compared to $958,890 for the period a year ago.

The 4-year-old Thousand Oaks company, which makes an electronic keyboard that converts shorthand into regular text, said revenue for the quarter was $358,723 compared to $77,427 in last year’s fourth quarter.

For the full year, Digitext reported a wider loss of $3.7 million, or 98 cents a share, compared to a $2.6-million loss in fiscal 1986. Revenue for the year was $574,757, compared to $288,271 a year ago.

Late last year, computer giant Wang Laboratories signed a deal to act as exclusive worldwide distributor for Digitext’s products.
