TRW will disband its Electronic Components unit.

The group’s five divisions that will be divested have sales of $290 million, the company said. The RF Devices unit of Lawndale is the only unit based in Southern California that is to be divested, the company said. Three other divisions will be folded into other groups at TRW. LSI Products division will become part of the Redondo Beach-based Electronics & Defense Sector’s Electronic Systems Group. TRW said the action is part of an effort to focus on three high-technology businesses: space and defense, automotive and information systems.
