Cudahy : Police Fee Set for Party Call

Share

Loud parties and unruly gatherings that police must respond to more than once will cost the party-givers police service fees, according to an ordinance passed by the City Council.

People who have entertainment at their residences that cause disturbances to which police are called more than once will be sent a bill for the amount of time and manpower needed to bring the situation under control.

The council passed the ordinance by a 5-0 vote Monday. It will become effective in 30 days.

Charges for the second calls will be determined by the number of officers dispatched, the time it takes them to handle the situation and any damage caused to city property.

Law enforcement services are provided to the city by the Bell Police Department. The City of Bell recently passed a similar ordinance.
