Senate Minority Leader Bob Dole (R-Kan.) on Wednesday urged President Reagan to press West Germany to extradite accused terrorist Mohammed Ali Hamadi to the United States.

In a letter to Reagan, also signed by Sen. Alfonse M. D’Amato (R-N.Y.), Dole asked the President to place the issue “high on the agenda” at any summit meeting with West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl.

Reagan left Wednesday to attend an economic summit in Venice, Italy, and plans to meet with Kohl on June 12 in Bonn before returning to Washington.

Hamadi, now jailed in Frankfurt for possession of explosives, is wanted in the United States for murder and air piracy in connection with the 1985 hijacking of a TWA airliner and the murder of a U.S. Navy diver.

There have been reports that Bonn may deny the U.S. extradition request as part of a deal to free West Germans kidnaped in Lebanon.
