CalComp Sells Computer Division

Anaheim-based CalComp said it has completed the sale of its computer systems division to a West German firm, ISICAD GmbH. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The division’s assets have been transferred to ISICAD Inc., a newly formed company headquartered in California, which will continue to develop and market computer-aided design products for the architecture, engineering and facilities-management professions.

ISICAD Inc. is temporarily operating out of CalComp’s facility in Anaheim but plans to relocate soon in the same general area, according to John Arnold, president of the new company. All key employees of CalComp’s systems division have accepted positions with ISICAD Inc., said Arnold, who was the division’s director of product development.
