Facing protests by advocates of animal rights, a San Francisco wharf-area bistro called Wallaby’s has scrapped plans to sell kangaroo stew. Co-owner Terry MacRea said that potential pickets had convinced him that state law forbids selling kangaroo and other meats on the list of endangered species, although, he said, he had earlier been assured that it was legal.
