Car Deals in Hawaii

Some hotels in Hawaii are again offering free rental cars to guests who pay regular room rates.

To illustrate, Aston Hotels is offering complimentary rental cars at 27 properties on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii until Dec. 23. The cars include free mileage.

Outrigger Hotels has a comparable “Waikiki Free Ride” program at 12 properties in the Honolulu/ Waikiki area until Dec. 18.

Until Dec. 19, Colony Hotels and Resorts is offering free rental cars at 17 properties on the four primary islands, as well as Molokai.

Wardair Hotels Hawaii is providing free rental cars for guests at the Waikiki Banyan Condominium Hotel or Kauai Beach Boy until Sept. 31.

Meanwhile, Amfac Hotels is again offering various “Aloha” discount rates until Dec. 19 at six properties on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. The discounts, however, are only available for the standard room category and not the two higher-priced superior and deluxe room categories. The “Aloha” discount also is offered on Amfac packages that combine both rooms and car rentals.

Hilton Hotels in Hawaii has a “Hilton on Wheels” program going, until Dec. 26, with properties on Kauai and on the Kona Coast of the Big Island. Guests can get the special rate of $79 for a room, single or double occupancy, plus a rental car. The regular starting rate for rooms, without the car, is $90 at the Kona property and $105 on Kauai. This offer is also available for $99 (regular rate starts at $115) with Hilton’s condominiums on Kauai.

Rooms under these discount programs are usually on a space-available basis and the deals cannot be combined with any other discount.

Similarly, the free rental cars are subject to availability. Fuel, taxes and other optional charges are extra. Make sure you ask for the discount/free rental car at the time you book your room.
