Bob Hope and his wife Delores were honored over the weekend with “Hollywood’s Citizens of the Century” awards presented at a USO canteen that symbolized the comedian’s five decades of performing for American GI’s around the world. The award was presented to the 84-year-old comedian by actor Jimmy Stewart, his longtime friend. About 1,000 World War II veterans packed the Bob Hope USO, a re-creation of the famous Hollywood canteen where thousands of servicemen were entertained during World War II. Delores Hope was attending their grandson’s high school graduation.
