National Lumber Cuts Costs, Gets Back in Black

Share

National Lumber & Supply Inc., the Fountain Valley-based home center retailer, said net income for its fiscal 1988 first quarter ended April 30 was $60,126, contrasted with a net loss of $582,089 for the comparable period last year. Total sales of $38.2 million were up 17% from $32.6 million a year earlier.

The company attributed the increase in part to its “success in reducing its general and administration costs as a percentage of total sales.”
