A suspect in last December’s execution-style killings of four people in the College Grove area pleaded innocent to murder and attempted murder charges Monday and was ordered held on $4-million bail.

San Diego Municipal Judge Jesus Rodriguez ordered a June 17 bail review hearing for Carlos Fonseca, 22, who was arrested in Los Angeles last week.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Mark Pettine said the district attorney’s office may file special circumstances allegations that could lead to the death penalty if Fonseca is convicted of first-degree murder.

Pettine told the judge the Dec. 28 killings were drug-related and the victims were shot execution style.

One victim survived the shootings that killed Rosa Medina, 25; Miguel Martinez Vasquez, 20; Augustine Farfan, 21, and Enrique Mejia Beltran, 25.
