A group is seeking to purchase Genstar USA.

A group of Genstar USA executives have formed a joint venture with a subsidiary of Houston-based financial services company American General Corp. to buy Genstar USA. The venture--called Newland Group--proposes to acquire the La Jolla-based land development company from parent Imasco Ltd. of Montreal for $200 million.
