David Duke, the former Ku Klux Klan grand dragon whose presidential campaign is under attack by the Democratic National Committee, entered the party’s headquarters today and demanded a meeting with DNC Chairman Paul Kirk, but was ordered out.

“It’s horrendous that I was refused entrance into his office,” said Duke, who declared his candidacy is the white alternative to black civil rights leader Jesse Jackson. “We’re going to shake the Democratic Party to its foundation and set a new agenda for the party.”

Duke drove to the headquarters in a limousine, entered the building and told two black security guards that he wanted to meet with Kirk, a DNC source said.

One of the guards told Duke he needed an appointment and ordered him to leave and Duke then left without incident.
