Beverly Hills : Energy-Saving Program Starts

Share

The Board of Education has initiated a $387,000 energy conservation program that is expected to save the city’s school district about $100,000 in energy costs each year.

The program, expected to pay for itself in less than four years, is in response to a California Energy Commission request that school districts examine their energy systems to find ways to cut consumption and reduce costs.

The commission will pay for $12,000 of the program’s cost.

The work at Beverly Hills High School and Hawthorne and El Rodeo elementary schools will include modification of the heating, air conditioning, air flow and other equipment.
