Musical Mobiles for Cribs Recalled Due to Lead in Paint

Musical crib mobiles made by Woodcrafter Kits Inc. are being recalled because of excess lead in the paint, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday.

The red paint on the mobiles contains more lead than is permitted in federal rules, and, since the paint may flake off, it could pose a poisoning hazard, the agency said.

The recall involves the model LP-205 musical mobile toy, which features two smiling satellites orbiting to music. It is designed to be attached to a crib rod. Other toys in the Little Playmates series and Musical Mobiles with rings in colors other than red are not being recalled.
