Two Arabs detained in Italy have confessed they were part of a group that attacked Istanbul’s Neve Shalom Synagogue last September, leaving 23 people, including two attackers, dead, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported. Hurriyet said the pair told Italian police they were among a group of eight who went to Istanbul to attack the synagogue. They said two of the group from the shadowy Abu Nidal Palestinian guerrilla faction were chosen by lot to carry out the suicide mission and the rest left Turkey the day before the raid.
