Four Israeli peace activists accused of illegally meeting with PLO “terrorists” last fall went on trial, with opening testimony focusing on the exact nature of the Palestine Liberation Organization. The leftists have admitted meeting with PLO representatives last November in Romania. But they have denied committing a crime, saying the PLO is not a terrorist group. Defense attorneys argued that the PLO cannot solely be considered terrorist because it has non-military as well as military wings.
