Scholarships Offered by Asian Pacific Unit
The Asian Pacific Women’s Network-Los Angeles is offering four $1,000 scholarships to women of Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry. Especially sought are applicants who are immigrants or refugees who are trying to further their education or a life change through academic, vocational, trade or other skill development programs.
Applicants must live in a Southern California county--Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino or Ventura--and show evidence of acceptance into a college, university or vocational, trade or other training program.
Written application forms with transcripts and letters of reference must be postmarked by July 31. Finalists will then undergo a personal interview with the scholarship committee and will be asked to submit financial data.
The Asian Pacific Women’s Network-Los Angeles is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization.
Scholarship application forms are available by writing to APWN-LA, Scholarship Committee, Box 84-102, Los Angeles 90073 or by calling Kwei Lin at (818) 881-7097 or Marion Fay, (213) 661-0770.
