West Hollywood has inaugurated its mobile studio that will transmit live broadcasts of City Council sessions to about 12,000 cable TV subscribers, said Jon C. Merritt, television production supervisor.
The $197,000 van has 12 monitoring screens and includes work stations for a director, assistant director and sound engineer.
The air-conditioned van, financed by Century Southwest Communications, the city’s cable TV operator, is the first component of a $395,000 complex that will include editing studios and a facility to air reruns of council meetings and other programs for West Hollywood viewers.
