Allegheny Will Sell 2 Manufacturing Units

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny International Inc. said Monday it will sell its John Zink Co. subsidiary to an affiliate of Lone Star Technologies Inc. of Dallas and its Bra-Con Industries Inc. subsidiary to Dollar Corp. of Troy, Mich.
Allegheny International declined to disclose the terms of either deal.
John Zink, based in Tulsa, Okla., is an engineering and manufacturing firm that supplies combustion technology products and energy recovery equipment and services.
Allegheny International acquired John Zink in 1981 through its acquisition of Sunbeam Corp. John Zink has about 775 employees in Oklahoma and in Luxembourg and West Germany.
Bra-Con, based in Livonia, Mich., and Dollar are designers and builders of automated welding and assembly systems for the auto, appliance and farm equipment industries.
