The Bolshoi Ballet launches its first U.S. tour since 1979 this week in New York, performing two ballets that the Soviet company has never before presented in the United States. Choreographed by artistic director Yuri Grigorovich, “Raymonda” (to music by Alexander Glazunov) and “The Golden Age” (to music by Dmitri Shostakovich) are part of the Bolshoi repertory but will be staged for the first time for American audiences when the company appears Tuesday at the Metropolitan Opera House. About 110 dancers are touring with the company, which will be at the Met through July 18. The Bolshoi performs in Los Angeles at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Aug. 11-30.
