Advanced Micro Devices and Monolithic Memories reported that the Antitrust Division of the Justice Department has asked each of the companies to provide additional information concerning their proposed merger. The companies had previously notified the Antitrust Division of the merger and provided certain information about the companies, as required by the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Act. The merger may not be consummated until the waiting period provided for by the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act has expired or terminated. The request extends the waiting period until the 20th calendar day after the additional information is supplied.
