Cypress : County to Add 1.5 Acres but No People in Annex
- Share via
Orange County is about to add 1.5 acres, but no inhabitants, to its 511,437 acres of territory.
The acreage is part of Forest Lawn Memorial Park, which straddles the Los Angeles and Orange County lines in Lakewood and Cypress.
The cemetery requested that the 1.5 acres be annexed by Cypress since a flood-control channel separates the small tract from the rest of Los Angeles County, and the land can be reached only through Cypress.
“The affected territory is uninhabited, and Forest Lawn Company is the sole property owner,” an information sheet for the Board of Supervisors said.
If the board approves on Tuesday and Los Angeles County follows suit on Thursday, the boundary change will take effect.
