Four Antelope Valley moving companies have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Los Angeles on charges of fixing prices for hauling household goods belonging to military personnel at Edwards Air Force Base. According to the indictment, the companies agreed upon “non-competitive and artificial” rates to be charged for moving services between 1979 and 1984 in violation of federal antitrust laws. Named in the indictment are Antelope Valley Van & Storage Co. Inc. and its majority stockholder Vernon W. Hitchcock; Golden State Moving & Storage Co. Inc. and Palmcaster Moving & Storage Inc.
