A judge in Titusville, Fla., ruled that the man accused of murdering six people in a shopping center shooting rampage is not qualified to defend himself and ordered him to get a lawyer. William Cruse, a 60-year-old retired librarian, charged with six counts of murder, 28 of attempted murder and two of kidnaping, told Circuit Judge Gil Goshorn he believed he was temporarily insane during the April 23 shootings in Palm Bay. Goshorn told Cruse he would be forfeiting his rights for a fair and speedy trial until he hired a lawyer.
