I submit to letter writer Jason Wurther that he is exactly correct in his assessment of Motley Crue fans (Calendar Letters, July 5).

They are tasteless and ignorant (all 3 million). Also, any comparison between X and Motley Crue is completely futile. Vince Neil, with his singing, or should I say screeching, along with his buddy’s amateur guitar riffs, is no match for the really jammin’ tunes of John Doe and Exene Cervenka.

X combines superior song writing, excellent guitar playing and two of the best darn singers in rock. So the next time you spend your money, spend it on a real band. For your first lesson in music, purchase X’s first LP, “Los Angeles.”
