Kohl Arrives in China

BEIJING —
West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl arrived Sunday in China on an official visit in which he will be the first Western leader still in power to go to Tibet. Kohl, who is seeking to strengthen economic links between the two countries, will meet Premier Zhao Ziyang today for a first round of talks and China’s senior leader, Deng Xiaoping, on Tuesday.
