The survivors of 69 of the passengers aboard a Mexicana jetliner that crashed into a mountain west of Mexico City last March have filed suit against the airline, claiming the crash was the result of negligence. In addition to Mexicana, the Los Angeles Superior Court complaint also cites Boeing Co., which manufactured the 727-200 airliner; B. F. Goodrich Co., which produced a tire that allegedly exploded and caught fire while the jet was in the air, and Western and Delta Airlines, which serviced the plane. Flight 940 was en route from Mexico City to Los Angeles when it crashed near Maravatio, Michoacan, killing 166 people on board.
