Two men held up a Reseda jewelry store of an estimated $100,000 in merchandise, police said Tuesday.

The robbery occurred at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Le Baron Jewelers, in the 19300 block of Victory Blvd., Detective Thomas Nolan said.

An employee of the store allowed the robbers to enter in the belief they were jewelry salesmen, Nolan said. One of the men, dressed in a suit, put a briefcase on the counter, but the other drew a handgun and announced a robbery, he said.

One of the two employees in the store was forced to open a safe and relinquish the key to the jewelry cases, Nolan said. The two employees were tied up but were not hurt, he said.

The exact amount of watches, rings, chains and other jewelry taken is undetermined, Nolan said.

No suspects have been identified in the robbery.
