Radioactivity Leaks From Virginia Plant

MINERAL, Va. —
One of thousands of stainless steel tubes carrying superheated water to a steam generator at a nuclear power plant ruptured Wednesday and a tiny amount of radioactivity escaped into the atmosphere, officials said.
One of the two reactors at the North Anna plant operated by Virginia Power about 45 miles northwest of Richmond was shut down.
