“Intercash,” an in-flight currency exchange service on transpacific flights between Japan and the United States, will be offered later this summer by United Airlines. The service is already available to passengers traveling between the United States and either Hong Kong or the South Pacific.
British Airways is offering travelers flying to London first-class on the domestic carrier of their choice out of Los Angeles or San Francisco to New York, Washington, D.C., or Miami the opportunity to then fly on the Concorde to London one way for the same fare as their domestic first-class flight. A European tour of 10 countries through color slides will be offered 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and July 30 and Aug. 6 at the Hesse Community Park, 29301 Hawthorne Blvd. Sponsored by the city of Rancho Palos Verdes, Department of Leisure Services, the cost for all three evenings is $16. A Mozart festival in San Luis Obispo and the mid-state fair in Paso Robles will be the highlight of a three-day trip sponsored by Community Services, Los Angeles Pierce College, Woodland Hills. Air Inter, France’s domestic carrier, is offering a pass that is good between 28 cities on 85% of scheduled flights. The pass is good for seven days, which don’t have to be consecutive, and will remain in effect for a month from the first flight. Cost is $210.
